Learning Services Awarded VA Contract to Participate in Assisted Living for Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury Pilot Program Learning Services Corporation is among a number of providers of post acute rehabilitation and supported living programs for people living with Traumatic Brain Injury to be awarded contracts as part of the Assisted Living for Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury Pilot Program (AL_-TBI). As part of the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act, the VA in collaboration with the Defense Veterans Brain Injury Center of the Department of Defense was authorized by Congress to embark on a five year pilot program to assess the effectiveness of providing Assisted Living (AL) services to eligible Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to enhance their rehabilitation, quality of life, and community integration. Learning Services, as a provider of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) long term residential rehabilitation services, will participate in the project along with other regional and national providers to serve VA-enrolled Veterans with TBI currently receiving care in VHA medical center locations throughout the Polytrauma System of Care as part of an effort to locate these programs in all areas throughout the US. This project represents an important public policy step in continuing to support those wounded warriors who experience long term needs for specialized TBI support and care. Learning Services is very proud to participate in this program with the VA.
