Learning Services, Escondido Program -  October 26, 2007

As many of you already know the wildfires in Southern California forced mandatory evacuations and threatened many homes and businesses in the greater San Diego County area.  On Monday, October 22, 2007, as the fire gained strength and intensity, Learning Services decided to take the precautionary step of voluntarily evacuating all residents and staff from our Escondido program and relocated operations to safer ground in Temecula, some 30 miles away.

On Friday October 26, 2007, the mandatory evacuation order for most of the city of Escondido was lifted and the residents and staff returned to the program in Escondido. Due to the commitment, preparation, pride and training of the staff, the week passed without incident. The level of organization, commitment and efficiency with which the crew at LS in Escondido dealt with the week of disruption was nothing short of exemplary.
